Top apps for the RBS 6 Nations

You've probably already planned what seat in the pub you'll be occupying for the Ireland vs Wales match this Saturday or maybe you've got the beers and Doritos in already. But what about your iPhone - is it all kitted out for the 6 Nations?
Here are a few essential smartphone apps that will take you through the remainder of the RBS 6 Nations.

The official iPhone app of the IRFU was only released on Tuesday 9 March and already it's the most downloaded app in the Irish App Store.
It brings you the O2 Matchday Live Service, live scores with text updates, the latest international and club news as well as AIB League news and match reports, results, and it's free.

Fancy yourself as a competent kicker? Flex your fingers and go for gold with Flick kick Rugby - it's not going to change your life but it will entertain you during ad breaks and keep the adrenaline pumping!
There are four different modes: practice, sudden death, arcade and time attack, so you can really enjoy the thrill of conversion kicking from your iPhone.

This app gives you all you need to know about the RBS 6 Nations - lots of information on the teams, players, stats and so on plus there's a feature called Event Timings to help you work out your viewing schedule.
One of the best features of this app has to be the video section: you get match highlights as well as footage of the best trys and biggest hits of 2009.

This little app is a jack-of-all-trades as it aims to pump the latest rugby news straight to your iPhone while also providing some entertainment along the way.
The news feed is handy as it pulls in pieces from RTE.ie, IrishRugby.ie, the Independent.ie, Planet Rugby and some other sites and if you don't want to pay the 79c to download Flick Kick Rugby there is a passable kicking game here with varying levels of difficulty.
A most useful feature is the Guiness Pub Finder for those lucky enough to watch the lads play abroad; there are 15 pubs in each of the cities and it links in with Google Maps so you can find your way there.
And to top it off the words to all the rugby anthems are included!
